My dream, basically, is to dismantle UK capitalist white supremacy.

This dream led me, after many years in various jobs in various countries, to train as a primary school teacher, in the hopes of affecting even a small change - in subverting the pervasive, insidious white supremacist ideologies that plague school curriculums; condemn younger generations to unbridled epistemic violence; sabotage their life prospects and pertepuate cycles of oppression and elitism. Seems like the kind of aspiration any educator would support, no?

Little did I expect the almightily rude awakwning that befell me: the chronic enormity and depth to which white supremacy is embedded across the entire educational institution (as well as all other UK institutions), inside and outside the classroom. Somewhat naive to school beaurocratic politics, I found myself spending more energy challenging problematic resources and ideologies, than teaching my class. It was a true bapitism of fire, and though the journey was agnoising, it certainly was transformative. But, becoming accustomed to- and adept at dealing with the gaslighting and intimidation tactics of megalomaniacal seniors, wasn't conducive to achieving my goals. Things weren't going to change soon and, stubborn as I can be, I grew weary of having to scream to be heard. So, onto the next chapter I move.

I’m a decent writer and have plenty to say, so maybe, channeling my inner Peter and Valentine Wiggin (for all the Orson Scott Card fans out there), I can start my own mini revolution here.

No BS.
